ANALISIS EKONOMI DAN PENURUNAN EMISI KARBON PADA WEST KALIMANTAN POWER GRID STRENGTHENINGPROJECT

West Kalimantan Power Grid Strengthening Project menunjukan manfaat ekonomi yang signifikan, sebagaimana tercermin dari Economic Internal rate of Return (EIRR) sebesar 92.1% dengan Economic Net Present Value (ENPV) sebesar $224,7 juta pada tingkat diskonto 12%. Pencapaian ini melebihi penilaian awal karena pembelian energi listrik aktual dai SESCO, Serawak lebih besar dari saat perencanaan. Penilaian manfaat ekonomi ini penting dilakukan untuk mengetahui kebermanfaatan suatu proyek di sektor publik, terutama pada penyediaan listrik yang nilainyas sering terdistorsi karenya penyesuaian. Selain itu, proyek ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap keberlanjutan lingkungan dengan mengurangi emisi CO2 pada Sistem Khatulistiwa melalui pembelian energi terbarukan dari Bakun Hydropower. Selama periode 2016 – 2022, proyek ini mencapai rata- rata penurunan emisi sebesar 1.095.519 ton CO2e per tahun.

The West Kalimantan Power Grid Strengthening Project demonstrates significant economic benefits, as reflected by an Economic Internal Rate of Return (EIRR) of 92.1% and an Economic Net Present Value (ENPV) of $224.7 million at a 12% discount rate. This achievement surpasses initial appraisals due to the actual electricity purchases from SESCO, Sarawak, being higher than planned. Evaluating economic benefits is crucial to understanding the value of a public sector project, particularly in electricity provision, where values are often distorted due to adjustments. Furthermore, the project contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing CO2 emissions in the Khatulistiwa System through the purchase of renewable energy from Bakun Hydropower. Between 2016 and 2022, the project achieved an average annual reduction of 1,095,519 tons of CO2e.
