The Indonesia Journal of Halal (IJH) accepts manuscripts written in both Indonesian and English. The journal focuses on publishing scholarly articles covering a broad range of topics related to halal studies, including halal processes and processing, halal management, halal law, halal economics, halal products and services, halal tourism, and Sharia. The journal also welcomes contributions from related disciplines, such as food technology, food processing, pharmacy, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, animal slaughtering and meat science, as well as other subjects relevant to halal products, processes, and their implementation.
All manuscripts submitted to IJH must be original and free from plagiarism. Authors are required to provide a statement of originality and evidence of a plagiarism screening conducted using a recognized plagiarism detection tool, such as Turnitin. The similarity index must not exceed 20%. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources are properly cited and that their manuscripts comply with the journal's publication ethics and academic integrity standards.
The submitted paper to IJH will be assessed by the reviewer selected by Editorial Board. Paper that submited to IJH, will be reviewed by the Editor in Chief. The review process include feasibility of the language and scope and theme of article. After that, the article was review for contents and formating by 2 reviewers. The criteria for assements are originality, significance and formatting. The Editorial Board has decided for article to accept, revised or rejected. If article was accepted, Author must revised article in 2 weeks for reviewer sugesstion.
The Indonesian Journal of Halal (IJH) publishes articles collectively as part of a regular issue, each with its own Table of Contents. The journal is published twice a year, with two issues released annually. Each issue contains a minimum of six articles, resulting in at least twelve articles published annually.
Articles that have successfully completed the editorial and peer-review processes are scheduled for publication in the appropriate issue according to the journal's publication schedule. The publication frequency and schedule are intended to ensure the timely dissemination of high-quality research in halal studies and related fields.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The Indonesia Journal of Halal is an academic publication managed by the Halal Center of Diponegoro University, Semarang. Dedicated to advancing halal research, the journal serves as a vital platform for scholars and practitioners. It is published under two distinct scientific identities depending on the media format: the print edition operates under the name Indonesian Journal of Halal with P-ISSN 2623-162X, while the electronic edition is published as Indonesia Journal of Halal with e-ISSN 2656-4963. Through these publications, Diponegoro University continues to foster valuable scientific discourse and development within the growing global halal industry.
The Indonesian Journal of Halal (IJH) was established in 2018 by the Halal Studies Center of Diponegoro University in collaboration with the Central Java Halal Consortium (Konsorsium Halal Jawa Tengah), Indonesia. The inaugural volume of IJH featured articles presented at the National Seminar on Safety and Halal, held on July 26, 2018, at Grasia Hotel. The seminar was organized under the theme “Implementation of Halal Product Assurance to Support National Food Security.”

All authors submitting manuscripts to the Indonesian Journal of Halal (IJH) must ensure that their submissions are original works representing their own scholarly contributions. Manuscripts must not contain plagiarism, in whole or in part, from other works.
1. Originality and Exclusive Submission
Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. The submission of previously published work as an original article is not permitted. Republishing content that does not constitute a novel scholarly contribution is prohibited. For example, an English translation of an article previously published in another language will not be accepted as an original article.
2. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence, or be perceived to influence, their research, interpretation of results, or reporting of findings. All relevant financial and non-financial interests, as well as any sources of support or benefits associated with the research, must be disclosed in the manuscript at the time of submission.
3. Editorial Independence and Peer Review
The Indonesian Journal of Halal is committed to ensuring an objective, fair, and confidential single-blind peer-review process. The editorial team and reviewers must identify and disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest related to the manuscripts they handle or evaluate. Appropriate measures must be taken to prevent such conflicts from compromising the integrity and impartiality of editorial decisions.
4. Accuracy and Transparency of Research
Authors must report their research findings accurately and provide an objective discussion of their significance. Research data, materials, and methods must be described in sufficient detail to enable other researchers, where applicable, to verify the findings and reproduce the research. Data must not be fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or selectively reported in a manner that misrepresents the research findings.
5. Copyright and Previously Published Material
Manuscripts submitted to IJH must not have been previously published, except where the journal explicitly permits certain forms of prior dissemination in accordance with its policies. Authors who include previously published figures, images, tables, or other copyrighted materials must obtain the necessary permission from the copyright holder and provide appropriate acknowledgment and citation. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with applicable copyright and intellectual property requirements.
6. Correction of Errors and Retraction
If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published articles, they must promptly notify the journal's editors and cooperate in issuing corrections, clarifications, or retractions, as appropriate. If the editor or publisher becomes aware of a potentially significant error through a third party, the authors may be asked to provide evidence supporting the validity of their findings or to cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.
7. Plagiarism, Data Fabrication, and Image Manipulation
Plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and inappropriate image manipulation are strictly prohibited. Plagiarism includes the use of another person's text, ideas, images, or data without proper acknowledgment, as well as the unattributed reuse of material from an author's own previously published work (self-plagiarism).
Any verbatim text taken from another source must be appropriately identified as a quotation and accompanied by a proper citation. Ideas, research designs, methodologies, manuscript structures, and other intellectual contributions derived from previous works must also be appropriately acknowledged whenever relevant.
Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism or other forms of research misconduct may be subject to further investigation. If misconduct is confirmed during peer review, the manuscript may be rejected. If misconduct is established after publication, IJH may issue a correction, retract the article, or take other appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics policies and recognized standards of publication integrity.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate, manipulate, falsify, or selectively alter research data, research findings, images, or other evidence. The use of AI to conduct or misrepresent data collection, generate fictitious research participants or responses, or create unsupported research results is strictly prohibited. AI-generated references or citations must be verified by the authors to ensure their accuracy and authenticity.
Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, validity, integrity, and ethical compliance of their submitted manuscripts, including all content produced or modified with AI assistance. Authors must carefully review and verify any AI-generated content before submission and disclose the use of AI tools in accordance with the journal's requirements. AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the research and its publication.
Any misuse of AI that compromises research integrity, data authenticity, or publication ethics may result in manuscript rejection or other appropriate editorial action in accordance with IJH publication policies.

Starting in 2026, the Indonesian Journal of Health (IJH) will implement an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 500,000 for each accepted manuscript. To support young researchers, undergraduate students are eligible for a discount of up to 25% upon providing valid proof of student status.

LOCKSS enables these libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
