Thus, a water quality parameter and sediment examination are necessary. This research aims to compare water quality values in terms of salinity, temperature, pH, DO, TSS, total phosphate, nitrate, with existing quality standards and calculate Total Organic Carbon (TOC) content and grain size of the sedimentThe sample point was determined purposively. The total phosphate examination applied SNI 06.6989.31.2005 method, nitrate examination applied SNI 06.2480.1991 method, and TSS examination applied SNI 06.6989.3.2004 method. The other parameters are located in-site, while TOC used the %LOI method and grain size of sediment used dry sieving and wet sieving method . The result confirmed that the water quality values in the mangrove area are still within the safe limits, while the TOC ranged from 2,8% to 10,5%, with the dominant sediment grain size in the form of sand and silt. Abstract
Water quality is related to the surrounding environmental condition. The role of the mangrove ecosystem in Pusat Informasi Mangrove (PIM), Pekalongan, is to store carbon in high numbers. The other parameters are located in-site, while TOC used the %LOI method and grain size of sediment used dry sieving and wet sieving method. The result confirmed that the water quality values in the mangrove area are still within the safe limits, while the TOC ranged from 2,8% to 10,5%, with the dominant sediment grain size in the form of sand and silt.
