Abstract
Inventory of Tidal Flood Events in Semarang City for the Periode 2012-2020
Semarang is one of many coastal areas that are vulnerable to coastal flooding. Coastal flooding is a phenomenon where sea water enters and inundates the land. Many factors influence the formation of coastal flood including tides, rising sea levels, and strong wind that produce high waves. The purpose of this coastal flood inventory is to determine the dominant factor of coastal flood that occurred in Semarang. In this study, the date of the coastal flood that occurred is sourced from the mass media and natural disaster data by BPBD Semarang. Wind data from European Center for Medium Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF), rainfall data from Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), and tidal prediction from Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) are also used for analysis in identifying the dominant factor for coastal flooding. Based on the result of the study, coastal flooding in Semarang City generally occurs in December to February and May to July with spring tide become the dominant factor during the first transitional monsoon and the east monsoon and strong winds followed by high rainfall become the dominant factors during the west monsoon.
