Focus and Scope

Jurnal Geosains dan Teknologi is a periodic journal published by Geological Engineering Department of Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia. JGT is accredited Grade 4 (S4) by the Ministry of Research and Technology/ National Research and Innovation Agency.

JGT provides and accomodate publication media for scientific articles in the scope of

Peer Review Process / Policy

Articles submitted to Jurnal Geosains dan Teknologi will be evaluated through 2 stages of review: pre-review and substantial review.

The pre-review stage is handled by the editorial team, estimation of 2 week, to justify the articles's suitability regarding to the focus and scope of the journal and also with writing guidlines. The substantial review is conducted a blind peer review. Plagiarism probability is cross-checked by Google Scholar and Turnitin. 

Substantial review is performed by at least 2 reviewers. This stage will take up to 4 weeks. The decision regarding the article acceptance to be published is authorized by the Editor in Chief and editor based on recommendations from reviewers. 

 

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Geosains dan Teknologi has 3 issue per volume every year, which are in March, July, and November. The manuscript has to be submitted online from the journal website at https://ejournal2.undip.ac.id/index.php/jgt

 

Open Access Policy

Jurnal Geosains dan Teknologi provides open acess to the content issue, with the aim to support global exchange of knowledge, especially in geoscience and applied technology research. The published articles is accessible through JGT website and the full text can be download freely.

 

Archiving

Jurnal Geosains dan Teknologi is operating the LOCKSS system to create distributed filing systems among participating libraries and enables them to create journal archives for conservation and restoration purposes. More.

 

Article Processing Charge

Jurnal Geosains dan Tenologi applies the open access basis. Author registration, article submission, up to review process and publishing, are free of any charge. All readers can access and read all article with no charge as well.

 

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statements

Jurnal Geosains dan Teknologi is a peer-reviewed periodic journal. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, editor-in-chief, editorial board, the peer-reviewer­­­­­ and the publisher (Diponegoro University).

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed JGT is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher and the society.  

Diponegoro University as the publisher of JGT takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely serious and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensure that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. 

Publication decisions

The editors of the JGT is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal meet the requirements to be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always be the consideration in such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism.

Fair play

An editor at any time evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.
