Alat ini membutuhkan daya listrik sebesar 7 Watt selama 2,4 jam untuk lahan setengah hektar. Suplai daya berasal dari sistem Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) off-grid, sesuai Peraturan Presiden No. 22 tahun 2017 tentang Rencana Umum Energi Nasional yang menargetkan energi terbarukan 23% dari total energi fosil pada 2025. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun sistem PLTS off-grid sebagai sumber daya alat pengusir hama tikus. Metode penelitian melibatkan observasi, desain, dan eksperimen. Data observasi dari perangkat lunak PV Watts dan langsung menunjukkan rata-rata radiasi matahari harian 1044,57 dan 497,09 Watt selama 7 hari. Metode desain menentukan ukuran frame panel surya dengan tiang setinggi 4 meter dan kotak panel surya berukuran 40x20x50 cm. Metode eksperimen melibatkan pengujian alat yang dirancang. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan panel surya 100 Wp efisien. Dalam pengujian selama 7 hari, panel surya menghasilkan rata-rata 39 Watt setiap harinya dan mengisi baterai 20 Ah dari kosong hingga penuh dalam 5 jam tergantung kondisi cuaca. Baterai mampu menyediakan daya untuk beban AC dan DC dengan daya 7 Watt. Beban AC bertahan selama 13 jam, sementara beban DC dapat di-backup selama 24 jam.
