Sebagai negara dengan populasi terbesar keempat di dunia, Indonesia juga berada di peringkat keempat sebagai penghasil Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK) terbesar pada tahun 2015. Sumber emisi GRK di sektor industri berasal dari penggunaan energi khususnya energi fosil, proses produksi, dan limbah. Semua sektor industri memberikan kontribusi emisi GRK, tetapi kontributor terbesar adalah industri semen, industri baja, industri pulp dan industri kertas, industri tekstil, industri petrokimia, industri keramik, industri pupuk, industri makanan dan minuman. Berdasarkan Peraturan Presiden No. 61 tahun 2011 tentang Rencana Aksi Nasional Penurunan Emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (RAN-GRK) target penurunan emisi dari sektor industri adalah sebesar 0,001 Gton CO₂(e) (skenario 26 %) dan sebesar 0,005 Gton CO₂(e) (skenario 41%) pada tahun 2020. Peningkatan konsentrasi CO₂ di atmosfer mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir dan berdampak pada perubahan iklim. Teknologi Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) merupakan salah satu teknologi yang dapat digunakan dalam upaya mengurangi emisi gas buang CO₂ yang dianggap mampu sebagai teknologi penghubung yang penting untuk produksi energi yang berkelanjutan.}, issn = {2722-6719}, pages = {231--238} doi = {10.14710/jebt.2022.14509}, url = {https://ejournal2.undip.ac.id/index.php/jebt/article/view/14509} }
