Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINE

DJIEB: Diponegoro Journal of Islamic Economics and Business (E-ISSN: 2809-3895) is an open-access journal (e-journal) focusing on Islamic economics and business. The articles are published twice a year (June and December). This journal is developed by the Islamic Economics Study Program, Department of Economics and Development Studies, Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University.

General author guidelines

  1. DJIEB cannot accept an article if it is not the author's original work, has been published before (a conference paper could be accepted if it is has been revised so that it is significantly different), or is currently under consideration for publication in another journal.
  2. Manuscripts should be 4000-8000 words (including tables, figures, and references). They should follow the article template provided by DJIEB.
  3. Manuscripts should be written in Indonesia or English.

Reviewing manuscript

Every submitted paper is independently reviewed (double-blind peer-reviewers). The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendations. If reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the first decision will be sent to the authors within two months of submission.

Revision of manuscripts

Journal manuscript revision process in OJS (Open Journal Systems): After reviewers provide comments and input, authors are asked to revise the manuscript according to the suggestions given within a maximum of one and a half months. Revised manuscripts can be sent to the editorial office through the Online Submission Interface (https://ejournal2.undip.ac.id/index.php/djieb).

Manuscript preparation guidelines

After undergoing peer review and being designated as "Accepted" by the editor, the manuscript will be published in DJIEB. The DJIEB Editorial Office will duplicate the final paper layout. Author corrections are required for the final paper layout in PDF format.

Title pages: The article title should consist of no more than 20 words. Write a specific and effective title. The author's name, affiliation, and email address should be written in the article. In case of more than one author contributed to the article, that information should be available for each author. Provide which one author to be a corresponding author

Abstract: The abstract, consisting of no more than 260 words, should inform the readers briefly about the manuscript’s purpose, methods, findings and research implication. References are not allowed to be cited in the abstract.  

Keywords: Authors should provide a maximum of 5 keywords representing what are essentials in the article.

1. Introduction: The primary research problems, the study method, a summary of the background information, and a state-of-the-art literature review must all be included in the introduction. The goal of writing the essay should be mentioned in the last section of the introduction.

2. Literature Review or Theoretical Background: Literature Review or Theoretical Background must contain theoretical studies that are relevant to the research topic, including theories, concepts, and previous research results that support understanding of the problem being researched.

3. Research Methods: Research Methods must contain a detailed explanation of the methods used in the research, including the type of research, data collection techniques, research instruments, population and samples, and data analysis techniques.

4. Results And Discussion: The research findings and their discussion are included in this section. There must be enough evidence to support the research's conclusions. The answers, or the research hypothesis mentioned earlier in the introduction section, must come from the study results and the discovery.

5. Conclusion: The study's goals and findings should be addressed in the conclusion. Not all of the results, debates, and abstract should be repeated in the closing remarks. In addition, you ought to highlight ongoing studies and make recommendations for future ones.

6. References: Citation and reference techniques using references manager (Mendeley, Zotero etc.) with APA Style.

Artworks

Author must provide high quality artwork for all illustrations. Poor resolution or definition is not acceptable. Tables and Figures should be numbered separately. (Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2). Each table and figure should be given a title and should be presented on a separate page at the end of the manuscript. Figures and tables reproduced from already published work must be accompanied by permission of the original publisher (or copyright holder, if not the publisher).

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
