Despite having a high level of compliance with local customary norms, these communities still face limited understanding of national land regulations and administrative mechanisms for customary land registration, potentially creating vulnerabilities to their communal rights in the future. The implementation method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) combined with the concept of Community-Based Legal Empowerment. This activity actively involves traditional leaders, village officials, and community members through dialogical legal counseling and participatory discussions. The results of the service show that there is an increase in public legal awareness as measured through aspects of legal knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and behavior. The community is now beginning to understand the importance of administrative aspects such as historical documentation of land tenure and coordination with land agencies. Furthermore, this activity succeeded in formulating a model for empowering legal awareness consisting of five main components: increasing legal literacy, strengthening the role of indigenous leaders, documenting the history of land tenure, synergy with village governments and land agencies, and regenerating customary values to the younger generation.
