Biji mahoni mengandung senyawa yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Studi tentang manfaat biji mahoni untuk hiperlipidemia telah banyak dilakukan namun belum luas pembahasannya tentang pengaruhnya terhadap struktur histologi testis tikus. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis struktur histologi testis, manfaat pemberian ektrak etanol biji mahoni (EEBM) terhadap profil tubulus seminiferus dan sel-sel spermatogenik pada tikus putih yang diinduksi pakan tinggi lemak, diamati melalui variabel diameter tubulus seminiferus dan skor kerusakan pada tubulus seminiferus. EEBM diberikan secara peroral selama 32 hari. Sebanyak 30 ekor tikus jantan dibagi enam kelompok perlakuan, yaitu P0: kontrol pakan standar, P1: kontrol pakan tinggi lemak, P2: pakan tinggi lemak + simvastatin 8mg /200gBB, P3-P5: pakan tinggi lemak + EEBM 14, 28, 54 mg/200gBB berurutan. Hasil analisis didapatkan ekstrak etanol biji mahoni memperbaiki diameter tubulus seminiferus dan menurunkan berat badan tikus. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu ekstrak etanol biji mahoni berpotensi memperbaiki profil tubulus seminiferus testis tikus yang rusak akibat hiperlipidemia. Hyperlipidemia is a condition where lipids in the body exceed normal levels. Mahogany seeds contain compounds that have the potential to act as antioxidants. Studies on the benefits of mahogany seeds for hyperlipidemia have been widely conducted, but their effects on the histological structure of rat testicles have not been widely discussed. This study aimed to analyze the histological structure of the testicles, the benefits of administering mahogany seed ethanol extract (MSEE) on the profile of seminiferous tubules and spermatogenic cells in white rats induced by a high-fat diet, observed through variables such as seminiferous tubule diameter and damage scores in the seminiferous tubules. MSEE was administered orally for 32 days. Total 30 male rats were divided into 5 treatment groups, namely P0: standard feed control, P1: high-fat diet control, P2: high-fat diet + simvastatin 8 mg/200gBW, P3-P5: high-fat diet + MSEE 14, 28, 54 mg/200gBW respectively.The results of the analysis showed that ethanol extract of mahogany seeds improved the diameter of seminiferous tubules and reduced body weight of rats.
