Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik peternak, faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi alokasi waktu, dan pendapatan peternak di Kecamatan Ungaran Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari sampai April 2016. Penentuan sampel menggunakan metode sensus sebanyak 47 orang yang memelihara ternak sapi perah. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear berganda, analisis one sample t test, rata-rata karakteristik peternak, dan analisis pendapatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kisaran umur 21-55 tahun sekitar 85%, pengalaman usaha responden sebagian besar memiliki pengalaman lebih dari 10 tahun sekitar 57%, sedangkan pendapatan usaha ternak sapi perah di Kecamatan Ungaran Barat rata-rata sebesar Rp.16.534.095/tahun. Alokasi waktu tenaga kerja dilakukan sebesar 368,37 HKP/tahun yang terdiri dari ayah ibu dan anak dalam melakukan pekerjaan membersihkan kandang, mencari rumput, memberi pakan, dan memerah susu. Faktor yang signifikan terhadap curahan tenaga kerja keluarga dalam pemeliharaan sapi perah adalah skala usaha, pendapatan, dan kedua KTT yaitu KTT Sumber Hasil, dan KTT Ngudi Makmur, sedangkan faktor yang tidak berpengaruh adalah pengalaman beternak, tanggungan keluarga, dan umur.
