RUANG is an open access scientific journal in the field of urban planning and urban design. Ruang covers topics related to the studies, planning, and design of cities and communities including their physical, economic, social, and political environments. The articles of this journal are published every three months (4 issues per year) and developed by The laboratory of Physical and Spatial Design, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Diponegoro University.
1. General Author Guidelines
All manuscripts must be submitted to RUANG Editorial Office by Online Submission at E-Journal portal address: http://ejournal2.undip.ac.id/index.php/ruang/about/submissions

3. Reviewing of manuscripts
Every submitted paper is independently reviewed (double-blind peer-reviewers). The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendations. If reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors within two months of the submission date.
4. Revision of manuscripts
Manuscripts sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor without delay. Revised manuscripts can be sent to the editorial office through the Online Submission Interface. The revised manuscripts returned later than three months will be considered as new submissions.

6. Fees
There are no fees incurred to author/s in the publication process. However, donations are encouraged. Please contact the RUANG Editorial Board to donate. RUANG is an open-access journal, so readers can download any article for free.

8. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Abstract: Manuscripts can be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. The content of the abstract should include research objective/s, methods, results, and conclusion with a maximum length of 200 words and is completed with at least three keywords in alphabetical order.

1. Introduction
Original research articles are preferable. However, other types of manuscripts such as review, including book review, conceptual or theoretical framework, and philosophical view, are also welcome. Articles should be systemized as follows: Introduction (should include the literature review), Methods, Findings and Discussion (please include the analysis in this section), and Concluding Remarks (please include the recommendations, if any, here). The typing format of the manuscript is as follows: one spacing, font type Times New Roman 11 pts, A4 paper size, use Word for Windows (preferably the 1997-2003 version), maximum of 7000 words in length.
2. How to Write the Title
The article title should be written with left alignment, fonts of Times New Roman of 14 pts bold, and a maximum of 14 words. Author name/s should be placed under the article title with title case format, no academic or other titles included, completed with the affiliated institution names. The title should also be written in English for the articles written in Bahasa Indonesia.
3. How to Write the Abstract
The abstract is a very brief summary of the article, so it should include the problem statement, aim/s, methods, analysis, results, and conclusion. The abstract should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English for articles in Bahasa Indonesia. The maximum length of the abstract is 200 words. Indonesian abstract (abstrak) should use Times New Roman fonts 10 pts, while the English abstract should be written in Times New Roman 10 pts. The writing format for keywords is the same as that for the abstract; however, keywords should be written in italic
4. How to Write the Body of Article
The article should be written with left-right alignment using Times New Roman fonts, 11pts. The margin format should be 20 mm top, 20 mm bottom, 20 mm right, and 20 mm left. The header and footer margin is 15 mm. The paper size is A4.
5. Tables and Figures
Title of Table/Figure should well represent the content but be concise at a maximum of 12 words. The title of table/figure should be written in bold, center alignment, using Times New Roman, 10 pts, while the source of table/figure in italics using Times New Roman, 10 pts, left alignment. The source should be placed after the table and the figures.
6. Acknowledgement
Any person, institution, and/or other party having contributed in the completion of the manuscript can be acknowledged. For a research-based article, at least the funding source/s of the research should be acknowledged
7. How to Write the References
References should be written in one spacing using Times New Roman, 10 pts. Please use APA 6th style (http://www.apastyle.org/learn/quick-guide-on-references.aspx). Examples of references can be seen below.
References
References are written single-spaced using Times New Roman font with a size of 10 pt. Reference writing uses the APA 6th style. All references referred to in the article must be listed in the reference section. References must contain references from primary sources (scientific journals and amount to at least 80% of all references) published in the last 10 (ten) years. Each article must contain at least 15 (fifteen) references, except case reports. Writing a reference system in the article manuscript and writing references should use a reference management application program, for example: Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero, or others.
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The Authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that if accepted for publication, the copyright of the article shall be assigned to Ruang, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro as the publisher of the journal. Copyright includes the rights to reproduce and deliver the article in all forms and media.
