Abstract
Elementary school students are of an age group that is vulnerable to infection transmission, during the COVID-19 pandemic in the last three years. New life habits need to be applied at earlier ages. Therefore, the community service team of the Clinical Microbiology study program and the Dentistry Study Program of the Medical Faculty of Diponegoro University involved their teaching staffs and students in providing community health education regarding the introduction and prevention of infection to elementary school students. Utsman Bin Affan Islamic Elementary School in Ungaran became a representative target group in this community education service which included the introduction to microbes, education on proper hand washing, donning, and doffing of face mask, coughing, and sneezing etiquette and proper and correct method of tooth brushing.  The methods used were videos, games, practice, and posters/ leaflet. After the education program, 90.9% of student showed improvement in their knowledge on the forementioned topics. The post-test score (67.5+14.12) significantly higher than the pre-test score (49.5+11.33), p < 0.01. The community eduation program by using interactive media and active learning  facilitates the improvement of the elementary shool students’ knowledge on the microbes, proper hand washing, use of face mask, coughing and sneezing etiquette and  correct method of  tooth brushing
