Konflik Pembangunan Rumah Ibadah ditinjau dari Perspektif Hukum dan Masyarakat: Studi Kasus Gereja Baptis Indonesia Tlogosari Semarang

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the factors causing conflicts in the construction of houses of worship, specifically in the case of the Indonesian Baptist Church (GBI) Tlogosari, and to elaborate on the legal solutions to the issue.

Methodology/Approach/Design: This research employs a socio-legal approach by collecting data through observations and in-depth interviews, primarily at the Indonesian Baptist Church Tlogosari and the Semarang City Government.

Results and Discussion: The results of this legal study reveal that resolving the conflict over the construction of GBI Tlogosari requires collaboration from various parties, including local government, the Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB), the Legal Aid Institute (LBH), the church, and the local community. A wise, inclusive approach based on dialogue, tolerance, and respect for differences can resolve this conflict with a fair and harmonious solution for all parties involved. Thus, the Tlogosari area can achieve the peace and unity all desire.

Practical Implications: This study has practical implications, particularly for the Semarang City Government, in facilitating dialogue between all parties involved in a democratic and tolerant manner to address the legal issue.

Novelty/Value: This research offers a new perspective on resolving conflicts related to the construction of houses of worship, aiming to provide a more humanistic and democratic legal approach.
