Methodology/Approach/Design : This research employs a socio-legal approach, utilizing primary data obtained through interviews with key informants in Pringsewu Regency and secondary data gathered from literature studies. Results and Discussion : Indonesian law classifies domestic violence within unregistered marriages as ordinary assault, which leads to legal protection and rights fulfillment being governed by legal provisions other than Law No. 23 of 2004 on the Elimination of Domestic Violence. Additionally, various external factors create obstacles, rendering the implementation of the relevant legal protections ineffective. Practical Implications : This study has practical implications for improving legal protection and ensuring the fulfillment of the rights of women who are victims of domestic violence in unregistered marriages. By identifying the root causes and critically evaluating the existing legal framework, the study offers a foundation for the development of new understandings and gender-responsive policies by the government. Novelty/Value : This research provides a novel contribution by conducting a paradigmatic analysis through the lens of Critical Theory et al .
