Abstract
Plankton is an organism that plays a role in determining water productivity. Because it acts as a producer for the life process. It transfers of energy through the food chain in the waters. This study aims to analyze structure of plankton community with physico-chemical factors of the waters along with the level of disturbance in the Pendo River, Mejobo District, Kudus Regency. This research was conducted in February 2020 and it was done by sampling at 6 observation stations. Observation stations are determined based on the "purposive sampling" method. Data analysis used Shannon Wiener diversity index  (H') and eveness index (e). The results showed that the plankton community structure found consisted of Bacillaria sp., Skeletonema sp., Rhizosolenia sp., Synedra sp., Staurastrum sp., Zygnema sp., Keratella sp., Amphipoda, and Cyclops sp. The value of the diversity index (H ') in this research belongs to the low to moderate category (0.58 - 1.78). This value describes a community with a low to moderate level of ecosystem stability. The equalization index (E) ranges from 0.36 to 1.00. This value illustrates that each station has low to high type equalization. The water quality of the Pendo River is based on pH, BOD, DO, phosphate, nitrate, and turbidity values in some research stations  are still not optimal for the growth and life of plankton.
