The type of refrigerant used by the practitioner is the type of HCFC-22 or R-22, which has begun to be limited in use because it is less friendly to the environment and causes damage to the ozone layer on earth. One of the efforts to overcome the large amount of refrigerant that is released into the environment is to manufacture a refrigerant recovery device. This tool is used to take refrigerant from the system into the recovery tube prior to the practice of vacuuming, so as to minimize the wasting of refrigerant into the surrounding air. This study aims to determine how efficient the use of refrigerant is in the Refrigeration System practicum using a refrigerant recovery device. The method used is to compare the amount of refrigerant that enters and leaves during the vacuum process, with and without a refrigerant recovery device. From the results of the research, the efficiency values of refrigerant saving for practice using refrigerant recovery tools were 65.22%; 65.00%; 66.67%; 77.78% and 88.24%.
