Biomassa yang ingin diteliti oleh peneliti disini berupa bioetanol. Bioetanol adalah cairan biokimia pada proses fermentasi gula dari sumber karbohidrat dengan menggunakan bantuan mikroorganisme dilanjutkan dengan proses destilasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan campuran kulit nanas dan buah pisang hutan dengan harapan kadar bioetanol dapat meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan bioetanol campuran kulit nanas dan buah pisang hutan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian ekperimen dengan metode kuantitatif yang akan menganalisis karakteristik bioetanol dengan variasi komposisi kulit nanas dan buah pisang hutan, variasi A (80% kulit nanas 20% pisang hutan) variasi B (50% kulit nanas 50% pisang hutan) variasi C (20% kulit nanas 80% pisang hutan). Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari ekperimen ini, variasi A mendapatkan hasil kadar alkohol 60%, 85,75 kadar air, 0,73 gr/ml densitas, 210 J nilai kalor, variasi B mendapatkan hasil kadar alkohol 53%, 86,7% kadar air, 0,71 gr/ml densitas, variasi C mendapatkan hasil kadar alkohol 48%, 85,8% kadar air, 0,74 gr/ml densitas.
