Author Guidelines

For New Submission Process:

To submit an article in the JADU (e-issn: 2620-9810) please follow the steps:

1. Author login with username and password, if you don't have an account, please register at the registration link and fill in all the data needed.

2. After entering the author account, make sure your paper is in accordance with the JADU template which can be downloaded at the following link.

The image entered in the paper has a resolution of more than 300dpi.

The guidelines for the manuscript can be seen as below:

  • Write your tittle of manuscript in 14 pt bold Arial, capitalized each word. 
  • The name of author should be the complete name, and have to be puted the code of the affiliation. If all of the authors come from the same affiliation, the code should not be appear on the author's name. Fill the corresponding e-mail with the active email for the notification of your manuscript status.
  • Abstract. The abstract text should be formatted using 10 point Arial. The abstract must explain directly, accurate, and specific about the background, method, discussion and the conclusion of the manuscript. It should not normally exceed 250 words. Avoid using technical jargon and uncommon abbreviations. Keywords are the labels of your manuscript and critical to correct indexing and searching. Keywords: up to five words, separated by comma
  • Introduction. This section describes the background and should clearly state the objectives of the work. The background of the work has to describe the problem and short literature survey in order to trace the previous research, method, and result. Based on the previous research, then you have to show what do you hope to achieve, and show the novelties of the paper. If the section is consist of more than 1 paragraph, the next parapraphs should be ordered in line with the previous paragraph. The manuscript is required 6-10 pages with arial 11 pt, single spacing.
  • Method. The methods section describes the paradigm and procedures of the project. The author should explain in detail the steps to analyze the data to formulate the results.
  • Result and Discussion. This Section should clearly describe the process of data processing. Data processing can be either qualitative analysis or using a formula. On the last section, the result of discussion should be explained. In the discussion body, the things that need to be cite should appear with APA 6th style. The figure should be high resolution, at least 300dpi. The caption of the figure should be centered and put under the figure. All of the figure must be tangible, and could deliver the information clearly. If the figure is a map, the scale, orientation, and remarks should be appeared clearly. The Table should be centered on the page, and consist of  the clear information. Sub title could be within in the discussion section. It has the similar order with the other section. Only 1 structure of sub title is allowed. 
  • Conclusion. The result must clearly answer the objectives of the work. The results should summarize (scientific) findings rather than providing data in great detail The findings should be dialogued with the theory or the results of previous research or publication, so as to continue to develop science.
  • Acknowledgment. Author gives acknowledgment to those who have contribute especially in funding this work. This section is optional, so you could skip this if not necessary.
  • Reference. Cite the main scientific publications on which your work is based. Cite only items that you have read. Avoid excessive selfcitations. Avoid excessive citations of publications from the same region. Check each reference against the original source (authors name, volume, issue, year). Please use Reference Manager Applications such as EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc. All publications cited in the text should be included as a list of references. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). The minimum number of reference is 10, with the 70% minimum resources are come from journal. 

 

3. If your paper is ready to be submitted, please continue the steps in Start New Submission.

4. Follow the steps in submission. The author's metadata must be completed as many as the authors listed in the paper. Try to fill in the metadata completely.

5. Please upload supplementary files (if any). Supplementary files contain: survey photo attachments, statistical calculations, validity and reliability analysis, etc. After the new submission success, the author will receive a confirmation email from the Editor in Chief that the paper has been received by JADU.


The next process is the review process which is carried out in 3 stages:

A. First review

This process is carried out to review templates for writing, reference, scope and similarity checked by turnitin. This process is carried out by the Editor in Chief, if the paper passes this review, it can continue to the second review. However, if the paper does not pass it will be requested to resubmit or reluctantly be declined.

B. Main review

The main review is carried out by peer reviewers where there are at least 2 reviewers (editor is excluded) who review the substance of the paper. If the paper is accepted, then the process continues on editing, but if there is a revision, the paper will be returned to the author for revision and then re-submitted according to the time required by the editor (usually 1-2 weeks). This process uses single blind review system.

C. Last Review / Editing

The editing process is a stage to ensure all data and information in the paper is ready for publication. The editor will check the metadata, references, citations and writing standards. This process also includes English proofreading. After the editing process is complete, the paper is ready for publication.


The entire review process can be monitored in the author account. If the journal has been published, there will be an email notification to the corresponding author.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. Manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines in the MS Word article template:

  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
 

Copyright Notice

The Copyright of the manuscriot that published on JADU (e-issn: 2620-9810) shall be assigned to JADU journal and Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro as publisher of the journal. 

Copyright encompasses rights to reproduce and deliver the article in all form and media, including reprints, photographs, microfilms, and any other similar reproductions, as well as translations.
