The Indonesian Journal of Planning and Development is an open access international journal. The submitted paper will not be charged for article processing (Rp 0.00). Readers can read and download any full-text articles for free of charge.
All manuscripts must be submitted using the Online Submission System on the IJPD website (https://ejournal2.undip.ac.id/index.php/ijpd/index) after registering as an Author in the "Register" section. Online submission procedures can be found at the end of this guide.
1. General Instructions
Manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines in the MS Word article template format
3.1 General Preparation
3.2 Title
Title should be precise, informative and not too long. Do not mention the name(s) of author(s), and her/his/their affiliation in the paper, instead mention it in registration form in the journal website (to support double-blind review). Email address of the first author should be mentioned for correspondence purposes.
3.4 Abstract and Keywords
An abstract should contain no citation. Abstract should not exceed 300 words. Abstraction must describe the content well, including the study background, aims, methods, results and conclusions. Keywords should represent the content and highlight of the article (minimum of three keywords).
3.5 Introduction
In Introduction, authors should clearly explain the study background, including proper explanation of the previous research reviews at the same study location or similar research reviews (literature review), and provide an objectives of the study at the end of Introduction section. Please put some theoretical background on how the paper should address its purpose to explain why the study is important, to show the main limitation of the previous research, and to show the scientific merit or novelties of the paper. Do not describe literature survey as author by author, but should be presented as the group per method or topic reviewed which refers to some literature.
Example of novelty statement or the gap analysis statement at the end of Introduction section (after state of the art of the previous research survey): “........ (short summary of background)....... A previous research focused on ....... There have been limited studies concerned on ........ Therefore, this research intends to ................. The study aims to .........”.
3.6 Methods
The method describes the stages of research undertaken to achieve the objectives. In method section, authors should provide an explanation about how data collection techniques (sampling, observation, interview, and questionnaires) and analyses are undertaken.
3.7 Results and Discussions
The results should summarize (scientific) findings rather than providing data in great detail. Please emphasize what is new, different, or important about your results and highlight the differences between your results or findings and the previous publications by other researchers. Present your results as figures and tables and point the reader to relevant items while discussing the results. The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them.
3.8 Conclusions
Conclusions should answer the objectives of the research. Explain how the study advances the field from the present state of knowledge. The conclusions should explain the knowledge gap that has been fulfilled by the study, as well as feedback on the theory that underlies the study.
3.9 Acknowledgment
Recognize those who helped in the research, especially funding institution of your research. Include individuals who have assisted you in your study such as advisors and funding institutions, or may be the other groups of supporters, i.e. proofreaders, typists, and suppliers, who may have given the research materials. Do not acknowledge one of the authors' names.
3.10 References
It is recommended to use APA 6th Edition format as exemplified below, and use Reference Manager Applications such as EndNote, Mendeley, and Zotero. The references should be reflected the topicality of the article. References should be written in single spacing by using Arial 9 pt and additional spacing below at 6 pt. All citations in the manuscript must be available in the references, and vice-versa. References must present in the alphabetical order in compliance with the author-date system. The primary literature sources (scientific journals must meet the minimum 80% of the reference list). Each manuscript has a minimum of 10 references. Examples of reference formatting are as follows:

4. Guideline for Online Submission
Authors should first register as Author Role through the following address:

The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:
Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded. Do not upload cover letter and other supplementary files here.
Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: Detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. Manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords (please ensure that all data entered in metadata are complete).
Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter, and Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement Form. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
Step 5 – Confirming the Submission: Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to IJPD, click Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.
After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission automatically. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes a status of manuscript review and editorial process.
5. Reviewing Process Manuscripts
Every submitted paper is independently reviewed by peer-reviewer. The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their report/recommendation and made solely by Editor. If reviewer consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors after the submission date
Revised Manuscripts should be returned to the editor without delay.
Editor will send a notification to author(s) who has/have not sent revision a maximum of 2 times, if editor do not get a response from author(s), the article will be considered as a new submission and will be reviewed again by other peer-reviewer.
The revised manuscript should be uploaded to the Online Submission Interface (https://ejournal2.undip.ac.id/index.php/ijpd) in the "Upload Author Version" from Review task window. The revised document should include MS Word file for Revised Manuscript file according to Template-based format (MS Word file) (Important: please color highlight the revised sentences).
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All manuscripts should be prepared according to the Template and Author Guidelines and please submit by Online Submission
Before submitting the manuscript, the authors must be registered as the Author by completing the data through Registration. If authors have any problems on the online submission, please contact the Editor by email: laredem.ijpd@gmail.com.
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that if accepted for publication, copyright of the article shall be assigned to The Indonesian Journal of Planning and Development (IJPD). Copyright encompasses rights to reproduce and deliver the article in all form and media, including reprints, photographs, microfilms and any other similar reproductions, as well as translations.
As an article writer, the author has the right to use their articles for various purposes, including use by institutions that employ authors or institutions that provide funding for research. Author rights are granted without special permission.
Author who publishes a paper at IJPD has the broad right to use their work for teaching and scientific purposes without the need to ask permission, including: used for (i) teaching in the author's class or institution, (ii) presentation at meetings or conferences and distributing copies to participants ; (iii) training conducted by the author or author's institution; (iv) distribution to colleagues for research use; (v) use in the compilation of subsequent authors' works; (vi) inclusion in a thesis or dissertation; (vi) reuse of part of the article in another work (with citation); (vii) preparation of derivative works (with citation); (viii) voluntary posting on open websites operated by authors or author institutions for scientific purposes (follow the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 License).
Authors and readers can copy and redistribute material in any media or format, and mix, modify, and build material for any purpose but they must provide appropriate credit (provide article citation or content), providing links to the license, and indicate if there are changes.
Reproduce any part of this journal, its storage in the database or its transmission by all forms or media is permitted does not need for written permission from IJPD. However, it should be cited as an honor in academic manners
IJPD and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of Diponegoro University and the Editor make every effort to ensure that there are no data, opinions, or false or misleading statements published in IJPD. However, the content of the article is the sole and exclusive responsibility of each author.
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
