Abstract

Thiourea merupakan senyawa penuntun yang memiliki peranan penting dalam pengembangan obat antikanker. Aktivitas biologis senyawa turunan thiourea dalam menghambat pertumbuhan berbagai macam lini sel kanker menjadikan senyawa turunan thiourea memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai agen antikanker. Artikel ini membahas berbagai macam strategi yang dikembangkan dalam desain senyawa turunan thiourea untuk mendapatkan senyawa antikanker yang memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik dan selektivitas yang tinggi. Pencarian literatur dilakukan dengan menggunakan database pubmed dan scopus untuk mengumpulkan informasi. Artikel ini akan membahas pengaruh dari variasi gugus atau subtituen senyawa terhadap aktivitas sitotoksik dan selektivitas dari senyawa turunan thiourea berdasarkan kajian in vitro. Aktivitas senyawa turunan thiourea terhadap berbagai macam lini sel kanker juga akan dibahas dalam artikel ini. Tingginya aktivitas sitotoksik dan selektivitas senyawa turunan thiourea memberikan bukti bahwa senyawa ini perlu diberikan dukungan yang tinggi untuk diuji lebih lanjut secara klinis.
