Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study examines the use of Multibeam Echosounder (MBES) data to estimate shallow water sediment in the study area of Kartini Beach, Jepara. Sedimentation is a process that occurs due to nature and human activities that lead to deposition. MBES is used for mappings such as water column and backscatter mapping. The emitted acoustic wave intensity value is related to the sediment laboratory test, the range of a certain class resulting from the acoustic wave intensity value shows the classification of sediment in the bottom of the water where classification differences are influenced by the emission by the instrument, so that the distribution of sediment can be mapped on the bottom of the water This pre-study conducted a study on acoustic wave data collection using MBES and sediment sampling which was then carried out by laboratory tests to later proceed with sediment estimation.
