The research was carried out in August - December 2019 at the Greenhouse and Laboratory of Ecology and Plant Production, Faculty of Animal and Agricultur al Sciences , Diponegoro University, Semarang. The research design used was a split plot. The main plot was the type of soil consisting of andisol soil from Karanganyar (L1), alfisol soil from Magelang (L2) and inceptisol soil from Demak (L3). Subplots were treated without soil amendments (R1) and with soil amendments (R2). The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance and then continued with the Honest Significant Difference (HSD) test at the 5% level to see the difference between treatments. The results showed the treatment of soil type had a significant effect on the plant root weight and shoot fresh weight, while the treatment of soil am e ndment s had a significant effect on the emergence of panicles and shoot dry weight. The conclution of the study is that the treatment of soil types and soil amendments improves soil properties but has not been able to increase the growth and yield of Ciherang rice variety.
