Author Guidelines

  1. The manuscript is an original work based on research results or literature review and has not and will not be published in any media.
  2. The manuscript is free from plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. Please make sure before the manuscript is submitted.
  3. The manuscript is suitable to focus and scope of this journal (See Focus and Scope)
  4. The manuscript is written English, consisting of 5000-6000 words (Abstract and References are not included), Calibri 12, spacing 1, A4. American or British is allowed as long as consistent.
  5. The title contains a maximum of 14 words, without abbreviations, 14-point Calibri, Sentence case, Bold, center, space 1, without subtitles and punctuation.
  6. The names of all authors are written completely without abbreviation, without title, 12-point Calibri, Capital Each Word, bold, center, space 1.
  7. The name of the institution of each author listed only the names of colleges or corporate institutions (without abbreviation). Example: Department of Communication Science, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, Indonesia.
  8. The correspondence author should be indicated with (*) in the name. Please complete the details of the correspondence author, such as full name, institution, institution address, and email.
  9. Abstract, made in paragraph form, consists of a summary of introduction, purpose, method, results, implication or conclusion, written in one paragraph, 10 point Calibri, space 1, justify paragraph, 200-250 words, no numbering.
  10. Keywords consist of 5 relevant words/phrases.
  11. The manuscript consists of 5000-6000 words, with no numbering.
  12. Footnote usage is not allowed; authors should write it in body notes.
  13. Quotation of more than 3 lines or 40 words should write in direct quotation style (1 spacing with margin indented).
  14. Every paragraph should use a tab / 7 beats, consisting of at least 3 sentences, space 1, justify, 12 point Calibri.
  15. The manuscripts only consist of INTRODUCTION, LITERATURE REVIEW, RESEARCH METHODS, RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS, CONCLUSION, and REFERENCES. It should be written with 1.5 spacing, Capital, 12-point Calibri, bold, and left margin.
  16. Sub-chapters are only allowed in LITERATURE REVIEW and RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS.

INTRODUCTION should consist of the following:

  • Research background/context with supporting data must be attached
  • Why this research is important and the formulation of the problem
  • State the research objectives
LITERATURE REVIEW should consist of:
  • Review of relevant research
  • Review of the underpinning theory/concepts
RESEARCH METHODS should consist of:
  • The type of research
  • Subject and object
  • Data collection techniques
  • Data analysis techniques
  • The location and time of the research
RESULTS and DISCUSSION should contain:
  • The findings of the research
  • Results should contain at least one table or one picture and a maximum 6
  • The sources should be written on the left bottom of the table
  • The table's title is placed above the table left margin, 12-point Calibri, bold, and space 1
  • Tables created without a vertical line
  • Figures could be graphics, diagrams, schematics, or photos. The title, source, and picture should be grouped, so they will not rupture when the layout is created
  • The Figure's title should be placed below the image, left margin, 12-point Calibri, bold, space 1, and the source listed in the bottom left of the image

CONCLUSION contains research findings. It should answer research goals and give applicative recommendations. Moreover, it must be written in a paragraph without numbering.


REFERENCES

  • Follows the APA style (American Psychological Association) http://www.apastyle.org
  • Suggested using Mendeley or Zotero
  • The bibliography is sorted alphabetically, without serial numbers, and is not separated between books, online, and other sources. Authors are required to use the Mendeley application in compiling a bibliography
  • The bibliography consists of at least 20 reference sources
  • 80% of references MUST include citation sources from articles in journals with a minimum of 60% are international journals (12 references)
  • Reference sources with a maximum of the last 10 years
  • References consist of 60% of English language sources

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Have you already read and adjusted your article with the author guidelines for Southsight?
  4. Already checked your article with a plagiarism checker?
  5. Already used citation tools?
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
