One of the most influential activities affecting construction duration is formwork work. In the Patimban Access Toll Road Construction Project Package 1, specifically at Abutment Bridge 9, soft soil conditions and limited working space became major constraints in applying conventional formwork methods that rely on ground-supported scaffolding. This study aims to analyze and compare the duration of formwork execution between the conventional method and the flying formwork method in abutment construction. The research employed a descriptive comparative approach, with the main parameter being the duration of formwork activities. Data were obtained through field observations, project documentation studies, and recording of execution time for each stage of work. The analysis results show that the conventional formwork method requires an execution time of approximately ±40 days, while the flying formwork method requires approximately ±16 days. There is a duration difference of ±24 days, indicating that the flying formwork method is more time-efficient. This efficiency is mainly influenced by the elimination of ground improvement work and multi-level scaffolding installation, which are characteristic of the conventional method. Based on the results of this study, the flying formwork method is considered more effective for abutment construction with significant structural height and unstable soil conditions. }, issn = {2654-4482}, doi = {10.14710/jbiomes.%Y.v%vi%i.19-31}, url = {https://ejournal2.undip.ac.id/index.php/potensi/article/view/30954} }
