Abstract

Hilirisasi sektor industri pertambangan di Indonesia, seperti Kawasan Industri Teluk Weda di Kabupaten Halmahera Tengah yang bergerak pada pengolahan nikel, diharapkan dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan ekonomi, penyerapan tenaga kerja, dan pengembangan wilayah. Namun faktanya, pengembangan industri dan pertambangannya tidak memberikan dampak positif yang berarti terhadap kehidupan masyarakat di sekitarnya, tetapi lebih banyak memberikan dampak negatif dari aspek sosial-ekonomi maupun lingkungan. Kawasan pesisir di Kecamatan Weda Tengah merupakan wilayah yang paling terdampak dari adanya pengembangan industri dan pertambangan oleh KI Teluk Weda, dan wilayah tersebut menjadi lokus dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan dampak sosial-ekonomi masyarakat akibat aktivitas pertambangan pasca sumber daya pertambangan habis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis korelasi untuk melihat indikator yang berkorelasi dengan pengembangan industri dan pertambangan serta analisis trendline untuk melihat gambaran sosial-ekonomi pasca tambang akibat adanya pengembangan industri dan pertambangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara sekunder dan primer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pasca tambang akan terjadi kehilangan pekerjaan secara masif dari hampir seluruh sektor ekonomi di kawasan pesisir apabila tidak ada intervensi yang dilakukan sebelum aktivitas pertambangan berakhir.
