Pelapisan Superhidrofobik Metiltrimetoksisilan-Silika-Titania (MTMS-SIO2-TIO2) pada Batu Andesit

Abstract

Permasalahan polutan dan kondisi lingkungan seperti cahaya, kelembaban, sinar matahari dapat merusak dan memperpendek usia bangunan yang tersusun oleh bebatuan. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya teknologi self cleaning untuk melindungi bangunan dari kerusakan. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan MTMS-nanosilika-nanotitania sebagai material self cleaning superhidrofobik yang dilapiskan pada batu andesit. Nanotitania disintesis menggunakan metode sol gel. Nanosilika disintesis menggunakan metode Stöber. Metiltrimetoksisilan (MTMS) ditambahkan sebagai coupling agent dan agen hidrofobik. Metode pelapisan yang digunakan adalah dip coating. Karakterisasi nanotitaniadan nanosilika hasil sintesis dilakukan menggunakan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) dan Particle Size Analyzer  (PSA). Batu andesit yang terlapisi di uji sudut kontak, dikarakterisasi menggunakan Spektroskopi Infra Merah (FTIR) dan Vickers, serta diuji kemampuan self cleaning. Penelitian menggunakan komposisi nanosilika/nanotitania 7:3 dan dengan waktu perendaman selama 5 menit. Kondisi optimum yang diperoleh untuk uji self cleaning adalah MTMS-nanosilika-nanotitaniakarena menghasilkan sifat superhidrofobik pada permukaan batu dengan sudut kontak 169,76˚. Batu andesit yang dilapisi MTMS-nanosilika-nanotitaniamemiliki kemampuan self cleaning dengan mendegradasi methyl orange sebesar 91,46%.
