Hubungan Persepsi Plagiarisme dengan Kepercayaan Penggunaan Turnitin di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya

Abstract


Masalah plagiarisme telah menjadi perhatian besar bagi sebagian besar institusi pendidikan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat persepsi mahasiswa terhadap plagiarisme, kepercayaan penggunaan aplikasi pengecekan plagiarisme (Turnitin) dan hubungan antara persepsi plagiarisme dengan kepercayaan penggunaan Turnitin pada mahasiswa sarjana tingkat akhir. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Jumlah responden yang digunakan berjumlah 100 mahasiswa dengan menggunakan propotional stratified random sampling sebagai teknik sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner online. Analisis data dilakukan dengan melakukan uji statistik dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 25. Tingkat persepsi plagiarisme diperoleh hasil 3,00 (kategori tinggi). Tingkat kepercayaan penggunaan Turnitin diperoleh hasil 3,13 (kategori tinggi). Hasil uji korelasi antara kedua variabel yaitu 0,664 dengan arah hubungan positif dan kuat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa telah mengetahui dan memahami cara mengidentifikasi hal yang dapat dikatakan plagiat hingga faktor dan dampak dari plagiarisme. Dengan kata lain, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi persepsi mahasiswa terhadap plagiarisme, semakin tinggi pula kepercayaan mereka terhadap Turnitin. Tingkat kepercayaan yang tinggi dapat mendorong mahasiswa untuk memverifikasi kesamaan guna menjaga orisinalitas karya, salah satunya yaitu dengan cara melakukan sitasi yang benar. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat persepsi plagiarisme yang lebih kuat mengarah pada peningkatan kepercayaan terhadap Turnitin, yang mendorong mahasiswa untuk menjaga orisinalitas karya akademis mereka
