The assessment focuses on nine key components of sustainable agriculture, including reduced chemical fertilizer use, adoption of organic fertilizers, soil cultivation techniques, crop rotation, intercropping, reforestation, and waste management. Results indicate that soil tillage using plowing rans as the top extension priority in fuve villages, reflecting a significant gap between the perceived importance and actual knowledge of this practice. The continued use of intensive plowing is associated with long-term soil degradation and increased erosion, yet awareness among farmers remains low. Additionally, the use of chemical herbicides and limited application of organic fertilizers also emerged as critical areas requiring targeted intervention. These findings highlight the need for more responsive and context-specific agricultural extension programs to promote sustainable farming tecniques.
